    1. Measure the length and width of your area
    2. Multiply length measurement by width measurement to acquire square footage
    3. Divide square footage by 9 to determine the actual yards needed
    4. Divide square yards by 50 yards per pallet to determine the number of pallets needed
    5. Round up to allow for errors.
  • Q. How do I care for my new sod?

  • Q. How many pieces of sod are on a pallet?

    A. Approximately 168 pieces make up a pallet. Each piece measures 16 by 24 inches.

  • Q. When is the best time of year to purchase and install sod?

    A. sod can be purchased and installed any time of year. There is no “right” season needed for sod installation.

  • Q. How does sodding compare to seeding?

    A. Sodding your lawn requires much less maintenance and effort than seeding. Sod produces an instant lawn ready for use, whereas seeding requires months and sometimes years of intensive management and nurturing to produce a full, healthy lawn. Sodding can also be completed at any time of the year, while seeding must be done during the appropriate time to ensure establishment.

    A. 

    Fertilizing: 

    To best way to select what type of fertilizer to use on your new sod is to do a soil test which determines what your particular soil needs. This is necessary because all soil is unique and requires different nutrients. 

    Weed Control: 

    Pre-Merge: in the winter, use Ronstar G according to the directions .

    Post-Merge: use Tenacity once weeds start appearing in your lawn.
